The activity is not always the goal

What do we actually want an activity to make possible? In We Are Streetwise youth work, activities are often a starting point rather than an end goal. Whether through sports, gaming or community events, the real aim is to create opportunities for connection, trust, learning and participation, helping young people take their next steps.

Framework, not method

What are the five Streetwise steps actually for? The five steps of We Are Streetwise are not a checklist, but a framework. They make professional youth work more visible, helping practitioners, students and organisations learn from practice.

Starting from what our neighbourhood 'can be'

The neighbourhood Belsunce in Marseille is too often described by what it lacks, and young people learn to see it that way. In We Are Streetwise, young people and Contact Club start from what the neighbourhood holds instead. The Power of Place turns familiar streets into a source of talent, belonging and purpose.

We are Streetwise is a project of Morgenmakers (previously Blenders vzw), Marseille Solutions, Roots vzw and Stichting M&K. and is co-funded by the European Union.
